About Chairperson Lion Amresh Kumar

Chair person Lion Amresh Kumar served as a distinguished and visionary Zone Chairperson during the 2003 2004 term, leading with a commitment to the mission of "Build Nation Through Lionism". His leadership was characterized by a broad international perspective and a deep-seated dedication to community welfare. Representing his zone at the Dhaka Area Forum meeting, he engaged with top global leaders, including International President Dr. Tae-Sup "TS" Lee and Immediate Past International President K.K. Fukushima, demonstrating his role as a pivotal figure in the Lions movement. Under his guidance, local clubs flourished, undertaking a massive volume of humanitarian work that touched thousands of lives across the region.

The following activities were successfully conducted under the leadership of Lion Amresh Kumar during the 2003-2004 Lionistic year:

  • Blood Donation Camps: Organized multiple camps collecting hundreds of units of blood in Naya Bazar, Qutub Garh, Narela, and Trilok Puri.
  • Sight First Initiatives: Extensive eye care projects including OPD services for over 1,000 patients, distribution of hundreds of spectacles, and IOL (Intraocular Lens) surgeries in Naya Bazar, Bakhtawarpur, and Silana.
  • Hepatitis B Camps: Conducted widespread vaccination drives at various schools and centers in Narela, Bhorgarh, and Jindpur.
  • Health Check-Up Camps: Organized specialized Heart Check-up and Screening camps with Escorts Heart Institute, as well as general health and dental check-ups serving over 2,600 OPD patients.
  • Diabetic Care: Integrated diabetic checks for patients during Sight First camps.

  • Water Huts: Established permanent water stations at Nigam Bodh Ghat, Bara Hindu Rao Hospital, and Girls School Narela.
  • Charitable Dispensary: Launched a dispensary in Sultan Puri.
  • First Aid Booth: Set up a dedicated booth at Piau Maniari, Kundli.

  • Support for the Physically Handicapped: Facilitated Polio operations, distribution of artificial limbs, clippers, tricycles, and registration for specialized surgeries.
  • Sweater and Blanket Distribution: Provided warmth to those in need at Children’s Homes, Tikri Kalan, and a Leprosy Colony at Tahirpur.
  • Fund Raising: Successfully organized fund-raising initiatives, collecting significant sums (such as Rs. 403,500/- in Naya Bazar) for community service.

  • Health Awareness: Conducted educational talks on Drugs and AIDS awareness and organized a Baby Show with 256 participants.
  • Sports Competitions: Promoted physical fitness through Kabaddi, Volley Ball, and Badminton tournaments in Narela and Qutabgarh.
  • Educational Support: Donated a motor pump to MCD Primary School in Naya Bazar.

  • Commemorative Days: Celebrated Kranti Diwas, Teacher's Day, Hindi Diwas (honoring freedom fighters), and Republic Day.
  • Bhandara: Organized community meals in Qutabgarh.
  • Administrative Excellence: Oversaw essential organizational functions, including Board Schooling and official Installation ceremonies for the clubs within the zone.
